I have known DAVIDE D’ONOFRIO for long now, I remember walking in his Restaurant IL CANOVACCIO the first time and my daughter could not climb the bar stool. Ever since I have loved his food, his passion for cooking and his innovative flair and combination of ingredients, that the Chef Roberta Guidi turns into amazing food.
And also the kindness and professionality of him, his wife Laura and the staff, and the skills of the talented chef Roberta Guidi make the experience unforgettable. The unique atmosphere of the location completes the job. A beautiful Piazza in the center of Campiglia Marittima, a medieval town that is a jewel since it has been kept intact through the centuries.

Imagine a hill covered with lush olive trees, plants and a winding road that takes you to a medieval town. Park the car, turn your head and find the mediterranean sea on the horizon. Look the other way and there is the Castle, built between the
8th and 9th century. Walk through the original gates and by the medieval walls. In the centre of the village see the Praetorian Palace, with it’s facade covered with stone coats of arms of the podestas of the 15th and 16th centuries.
Get lost in the historical centre with it’s stone built homes, small balconies, outside staircases, medieval arches and narrow alleys.
Visit the churches, among them the parish church of St John, just outside the village, Romanesque style, founded in 1163 with a beautiful 12th-century altar.
